HELP. math questions that i need the answers too. u will probably find it easy & ill pick u for the best answe?

it says Simplify by adding or subtracting like terms. And i need the answers to just these ones.

2(8k-4)

3(3a + 7)

6 - t + 9 + 4t

5(x + 4y) + 2(2x + y)

And i need help w/ these but he did say that he would go over the,:/

A store sold 64 video tapes on Thursday and 36 on Friday. Each video tape costs $18. What was the total video tape sales for both days?

Cia worked 47 hours one week and 53 hours the next week. She earns $9.00 an hour. How much did she earn in 2 weeks?

Joey, Henery, and Lena went to the bookstore. They each paid $2 for the bus. $7 for one book, and $5 for a second book. How much did they spend all together?

Gina runs 8 laps at each practice session. She practiced 4 times last week and 5 times this week. How many laps has she run.

If x over 6 = 12 then is x 2?HELP. math questions that i need the answers too. u will probably find it easy %26amp; ill pick u for the best answe?
2(8k-4)

16k-8

3(3a + 7)

9a+21

6 - t + 9 + 4t

15+3t

5(x + 4y) + 2(2x + y)

5x+20y+4x+2y

9x+22y

A store sold 64 video tapes on Thursday and 36 on Friday. Each video tape costs $18. What was the total video tape sales for both days?

Well first you just add it together.

64+36=100

Then multiply to find the total amount of money they earned.

18*100=1800

Cia worked 47 hours one week and 53 hours the next week. She earns $9.00 an hour. How much did she earn in 2 weeks?

Same as above

47+53=100

100*9=900

Joey, Henery, and Lena went to the bookstore. They each paid $2 for the bus. $7 for one book, and $5 for a second book. How much did they spend all together?

3 people means they had to buy three bus tickets.

So 3*2 is 6

then 7*3 is 21

5*3 is 15

Add it

6+21+15=42

Gina runs 8 laps at each practice session. She practiced 4 times last week and 5 times this week. How many laps has she run.

Just do 8*4 and 8*5

Which is 32 and 40

Add it.

32+40=72

If x over 6 = 12 then is x 2?

No because x/6=12

You cross multiply to get x=72HELP. math questions that i need the answers too. u will probably find it easy %26amp; ill pick u for the best answe?
16k - 8

9a + 21

3t + 15

9x + 22y

100 tapes total ... $1800

100 hours total ... $900

$6 for the bus. $12 for the book. If it says they only bought the two books, they spent $18. If they each bought 2 books then they spent $6 + $36 = $42, so check how they phrased the question.

9 practices = 72 laps total

x / 6 = 12 ... x = 72
[1]16k - 4

[2] 9a + 21

[3] 15 + 3t

[4] 9x + 22y

[5] $1800

[6] $900

[7] $28

[8] 72 laps.

[9] no, x = 72
16k-8

9a+21

15+3t

9x+22y

$1, 800

$900

$45

72 LAPS

no
16x-8

9a+7

15 +3t

9x + 22y
1)

2(8k - 4)

Multiply the 2 by each term inside the parentheses:

16k - 8

2)

3(3a + 7)

Multiply the 3 by each term like problem 1

9a + 21

3)

6 - t + 9 + 4t

Add the t's and the plain numbers separately:

6 + 9 + 4t - t

15 + 3t

4)

5(x + 4y) + 2(2x + y)

Multiply each half separately, then add together

5(x + 4y) = 5x + 20y

2(2x + y) = 4x + 2y

Now add:

5x + 4x + 20y + 2y

9x + 22y

Word problems:

36 + 64 = 100 total

Each costs $18

36 ($18) = $648

64 ($18) = $1152

total = 648 + 1152 = $1800

but you could have figured that out by just multiplying the total (100) times $18:

100 ($18) = $1800

The point here is that 36 ($18) + 64 ($18) = (36 + 64) ($18)

This is the distributive property and is useful for solving these types of problems.

Same as before, just add the total hours (47 + 53 = 100)

$9.00 x 100 = $900

On this one, since all three spent the same amount, figure out how much one person spent and then multiply it by 3:

$2 + $7 + $5 = $14 x 3 = $42

Add the 2 things that have the same unit of measure (number of times practiced) and then multiply it by the number of laps (the unique thing).

4 times + 5 times = 9 times x 8 laps each = 72 laps

x/6 = 12

Multiply both sides by 6 to clear the fraction:

x/6 (6) = 12 (6)

x = 72
16k-8

9a+21

15+3t

5x+20y+4x+2y = 9x+22y

64+36=100

47*9 + 53*9 =900

3*2 + 7 +5 =18

8*4 + 8*5 = 72

if x/6=12, then x=12*6 =72 (cross-multiply) therefore, 2x= 72*2= 144

please make sure you understand what i have done. i know i did not explain, but try to meet someone to explain. that's the best way to learn math. also, if you know these basic stuff, when you advance in your math studies, things would be easier for you. bon chance

i'm assuming you just need to cross check your answers, right?
dude....If I answer you questions right now we are not helping you at all

the objective of yahoo answer is to help you....in a longer run.

uhmmm how about if i give you a tactic on how to solve these equations

1. get rid of your stress.....it is difficult to answer mathematical problems with a lot of things going on in your mind

2. Use your imagination.....its all about story telling. visualize the problem and imagine that you are in that situation.....afterall we use math/algebra in out everyday life we just dont notice it.

it sounds dorky-ish but hey I am here to help

just do that then in the future math wont be a problem for you
