If you had a dispute with a sibling and also knew their child was ill, would you ask after the child's health?

Assume that you are corresponding by email about the dispute and the sibling has mentioned the child's illness in this correspondence.

If you had a dispute with a sibling and also knew their child was ill, would you ask after the child's health?
Absolutely.

To play Devil's advocate i may be momentarily forgotten if the exchange is heated.

Aww some things should be sacred and a sick kid's welfare shouldn't come into the crap us adults get ourselves embroiled with.

EDIT-Well in that case I'd return the email or send another one and put a PS. that the little one was fine/still poorly. Short and guilt inducing. But then I'm a wicked old shrew in such matters Skidoo ;-)

EDIT2- Bugger!!! Sorry for some reason I didn't see that bit of your edit... I think the comment made indicates a woeful lack of tact and understanding. I'd be more inclined not to justify myself to him at all in that case. I think he's being petulant. What were you supposed to do? prioritise him over your child? Stupid Boy!If you had a dispute with a sibling and also knew their child was ill, would you ask after the child's health?
I'm surprised you even have to ask this question.

Of course you should ask about the child.

For goodness sake, i'm guessing its your nephew or neice and they didn't ask for any of this to happen.

Lets just say if you don't ask and something dreadful happens to the child you would never forgive yourself.

Even if your having this dispute you should still ask and if it were me i'd ask could i visit this child.

of course you should skiddo, at the end of the day the child hasn't done nothing to anyone so you should ask, it would be wrong not too regardless of any dispute you have...
well yes i would
