GORDON BROWN is going to clamp down on incapacity benefit, will it be the bogus claims or the genuinely ill hit

there are people who have never worked a day in thier lives claiming to be too ill for work pretending to have mental illness problems or bad backs because these are not easy to prove fraudulant, they are milking the system for all its worth, also there are those greedy sods who work and claim these benefits at the same time, i think we all know people who fall into these brackets i could name about 20 myself, these are the b@stards who should be hit with browns latest ploy for popularity but ill guarantee it wont be these crooks, itll be joe average, the poor guy who worked hard to support his family but has recently become ill that will be the target. Those who have been on the dole or sickness benefits for years have already been writen off by the government as a waste of time and they are just left to languish on benefits i know this for a fact as i have a friend who works for social services and he has told me the ins and outs of it so i dont believe a bloody word of it, do you?GORDON BROWN is going to clamp down on incapacity benefit, will it be the bogus claims or the genuinely ill hit
The genuinely ill will be hit.

-SS (:Smiling Star:)GORDON BROWN is going to clamp down on incapacity benefit, will it be the bogus claims or the genuinely ill hit
Mostly it will be the cheats.........but I feel that some honest claimants will also get caught up in this purge.

Lets hope that the assessment used to differentiate between the two is credible.
Never judge a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes.
surely and hopefully they will able to tell the difference, they want to up the staff that go out there and watch them playing footy and lifting grankids and shopping ect while they are off with their bad backs ect. i know of someone who does the bad back thing, and she is fine for work, her benefit is then spent in a bingo hall ! lazy cow
Theres alot of young able bodied men who should be working, but are on IB due to 'depression' or 'drug issues'. They should be targeted for work more than anyone. Put them on job seekers..
It is true that this does happen.Bearing in mind that people with Mental issues even though they appear to be normal, can be a danger to themselves and others in the workplace.Having looked closely at a 24 yr old man recently, who has not worked for 5 yrs and lives a good life on the State. The first sign of stress and the guy turns into a dangerous animal.Usually he is quite normal and we must not judge a book by its cover.I am not in defence of the fiddlers but Doctors are not stupid when assesing health issues.
On issues like this, Brown, like his predecessor, is all talk. Judge him by what he actually does, which will be Jack S--t.
About time too....

I know people who claim such benefits and could have worked ....

One person in particular decided he was depressed .. gave up his job etc etc ... he has been on if for over 5 years and gets dla which infuriates me

Re mental issues my son has a learning disabilty and i get dla for him and he had to undergo lots of checks and so forth it was not easy and i almost gave up as the forms were impossible to fill out ..

I know people who claim dla falsey and have the nerve to go to the cab to get them to fill them out

Re bogus claims i recently reported someone who had been fraudelty claiming benefits for years and she got caught and all she got was a smacked hand and never even had to pay the monies back...

How wrong is that?

The govrnment needs to get tough but not at the genuine claimants

These con artists should be forced to pay back all monies regardless of their circumstances and the money should go back to the people who really need it

My son was born with his condition and although i was made aware if what we were entitled to we did not claim for over 11 years ...

Reasons for that were i could work and manage to pay for his care myself

I only claimed when my son became so ill he required round the clock care and with my loss of income we had no alternative and my pride no longer came into it

I understand you are talking about two differnt types of benefit but fraud is deep rooted in all social security benefits and if you rehaul one you have to do the others

I just hope the real people are not affected
i know someone who goes to his doctor pretends to be depressed and is on incapacity -

they fall for it everytime - he is just to lazy to work then spends his money in the pub !!!!

p**s takers
You're right m8!
You can be sure those that are milking the system for all its worth ,will continue to get everything,it will only be them that really need it who will be affected, sickening. More people should report benefit theft ,it's you they are stealing of.

My wife has just had to have another medical for her incapacity benefit, but we have just been informed by the social services that as her medical condition is so bad, she will not need to attend another until a years time.

So if you are genuinely ill, then you should not get hit.
i have been registered disabled and can't even get incapacity benefits i've been told that i'm not entitled to it,yet i get disability living allowanec which took me ages to get. i know of at least one person living in spain that is on incapacity benefit and if he is seriously ill comes over here for treatment so as you've guessed i quite agree with gorden brown clapping down.i also think that the people who have been unemployed long term to be checked because i've heard people say the get more on the dole and it would'nt pay them to get a job, because they have they're rent paid council tax and loads of other things
both will be hit, its unfair that the genuinely ill are going to have to suffer.
The only thing you can guarantee is it will be another government fiasco
