Is there a medicine that will help 1 year olds sleep better when they are ill?

freya had such a bad night last night ended up sleeping on the sofa but waking every half hour. shes had a cold and is teething. i have been giving her calpol calprofen and those teething powder thingys. but it makes her feel better but not sleep better. anybody have any tips? uk medicines? i cant leave her to cry in her cot like i normally would because i can hear from her cry she is ill.Is there a medicine that will help 1 year olds sleep better when they are ill?
Calpol do a night on, I understand teething is hard to get through - my son losts nights of sleep with his teeth. The calpol night and medised do similar, they ease the pain and let them drift off to sleep so they can get the rest they need too.

Anyone who just says ' they just need comforting' you have to remember its nt just the baby there are parents too and when theyre tired and irritable frustration builds. just follow the dosage on the bottle and it will be fineIs there a medicine that will help 1 year olds sleep better when they are ill?
You can give her ibuprofen as well as the calpol, but read the label (obviously you're not stupid, lol) because it's a much smaller dose. To help with a blocked nose we always stuck a cushion under the head end of the cot mattress to prop our little girl up a bit, and a drop of Olbus/Olbas oil on the front of her pajamas seemed to help too.

id suggest calpol and nurofen together don't buy the brand named stuff just buy chemist own just as good and half the price,to the person who said just needs comforting if got no fever, well they may not have a fever but still be in pain,i hope you never get tooth ache because it is one of the worst pains you will ever feel and no it doesnt accompany a fever.hope your little one is better soon and if its any consolation you are not alone as my little one teething badly too at the moment.
OK - if she has a cold try CalCold. It has the same ingredients as Calpol (i.e pain relief) but it also has a mild anti histamine which clears blocked noses and helps the baby to sleep. It really does work! I give it just before bedtime, it usually kicks in about 15 minutes later. You usually only have to use about 2 nights in a row as it knocks a cold on the head quite fast. Good luck!
medicine to sleep could be something to be avoided tbh. especially if she is on medication 4 the illness anyway. i always used to get given warm milk with some honey mixed in to make me sleepy. and a few drops of lavender on the pillow. it still works now!!
I'd go with Children's Advil for the Fever and teething and a cool mist vaporizer for the cold. She doesn't need a drug to help her sleep. If her symptoms are alleviated that's what's going to help her sleep.

All the best.
Are you giving her Calpol (paracetamol based) and Nurofen (Ibuprofen based) at the same time? You can do this and it should help her sleep much bettwe. It always worked with my daughter when she was ill.
heya,

using calpol will help. n comforting her.

be careful how much you are giving her with the other medicines. and make sure they can be taken with each other.
Medised contains a small level of antihistamine which helps baby sleep better.
If she doesn't have a fever she doesn't need any medicine. She just needs to be comforted.
dimetapp, the purple kind,
calpol night i think its called it helps a restful sleep have u tried a plug in decongestant they work relay well to especially if her nose is all stuffy
Have you tried children's benadryl? My husband is 43 and it knocks him for a loop!
