As a Tourist from the Philippines you do not need an Invitation to go to Malaysia nor a Visa since Malaysia is an ASEAN Member State, just passport. You can be Off Loaded in a couple of reasons but not limited to:

1. Standing Warrant of Arrest

2. Hold Departure Watch List

3. Declared Persona-Non-Grata by the Malaysian Authorities

4. Falsified or Tampered Travel Document

5. Canceled Flight

6. Falsified or Tampered Plane Ticket

7. Baggage contain prohibited items or drugs

8. Rowdy Passenger

9. Security Threat or suspected terrorist

As a traveling tourist you should have a place to stay prior your departure. You should also bring enough money that you will need based on the number of days you will stay and where will you stay. Your travel agent can usually give you a ball park figure as to how much you should have with you. Roughly you can only bring no more than $10,000 USD or equivalent when exiting Philippines, plus P10,000 PHP. Above $10,000 USD, you should secure permit from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. International Credit Card is always welcome and comfortable to use, just make sure that it is up to date, working, and would allow foreign country use.

If you are hold in the Philippines, that means you have legal issues that made you part of the Watch List, perhaps it is a name sake, of some reason you should have asked since it is suppose to be your right. You should verify the reason with Immigration or Airline, if the reason is because Malaysia refuse you, file a protest with DFA.

Since you are held at your home country...I do not think Malaysia has something got to do with your experience otherwise they will deport you the day you arrive there. Most likely you have Legal Issues in the Philippines. What would be the possible reason ill be offloaded form my flight?
It happen to me, was going to bkk even have a visa and yet they ask me for an invitation letter. Sucks huh! Immigration are doing it randomly I guess. So best thing to do is to get an invitation letter. If you don't have a friend in Malaysia, then get a hotel booking certificate from agency.

The best possibility is that they mistook you for a possible illegal immigrant.

Then there are also syndicates who herd girls to Malaysia, Singapore, and other countries, purportedly as tourists but end up being detained by syndicates and forced to be sex workers.

Unfortunately, the wrongs committed by our fellow citizens have adverse effects on well meaning Filipinos.
That's bull. If you were offloaded it was for a good reason and not because you didn't have an invitation. Tourists go there everyday from Cebu without one. I'm sure it's true through Manila too.
Most airlines do double booking. They sells airline sits more than the airplane could accommodate, and most often the most convenient excuse to take people off the sits is by giving them asinine excuse just like they give you.
The Airlines personnel makes mistakes too. Sometimes it happens that they could not control the number of passenger loads, due to prior booking of passengers from different Travel and Tour Agencies. And their chance to get away with it is a 'no show passenger' may arise while boarding, if in case all passenger shows up then it will be decided on the basis of first to book, first to board.

There are times also that sudden booking of dignitaries and state officials may arise. These are considered priorities in boarding. They have no other way but to offload a passenger.

You should have asked to be compensated for your inconvenience, a free stay in Hotel and free food could have been given to you.

Airlines personnel are aware of invitations and or Visa requirements of each country. They should have informed you prior to acceptance of your payment if such thing exist.

And when you said that you were offloaded, my guess is you have already boarded and passed through the Immigration Department... mind you the Immigration of your origin will not allow you to pass and visit other countries without proper documentations of what the country you want to visit requires... which includes a Visit Visa, and or Letter of Invitation..etc... these too are being checked on the Check In counters of the Airlines. So I wonder how they have boarded you if that is the case.

You should ask to be compensated.. its the Airlines incompetence that puts you on this situation.
