How long will Republicans blame Clinton or Carter for all the country's ills?

Does anybody have a guess? 30 more years? 40 more?

Don't you think Republicans should look in the mirror? They've had the white house for soon to be 28 out of the last 40 years... do they really contend that Carter and Clinton have caused more problems than Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush and Bush? Seriously? How long will Republicans blame Clinton or Carter for all the country's ills?
As soon as they stop blaming the Liberal Media for telling the depressing truth, I have no idea as to how long the lies and distortions will continue, maybe until the Republicans learn how to run a country competently and they don't need to point out the failures they have while in office, as hangovers from a long gone administration. How long will Republicans blame Clinton or Carter for all the country's ills?
When's the last time that the liberal media told the ';truth';?

Republicans are often the exact opposite of what they say they are. So when they say they stand for personal responsibility, it means they're blaming every Democrat official, contributor, supporter and celebrity.

For example, someone here said Clinton was responsible for the abuses of Halliburton because his administration had awarded them a no bid contract (for continuing work in the Balkans in 1996). Further, all Democrats are responsible for the over changing and incompetent work of Halliburton and its subsidiaries because George Soros bought a large block of Halliburton stock in December 2006.

Now that Republicans can no longer deny the tragic and pitiful performance of the Bush administration, the real objective is to paint the Democrats as equally bad, (Democrats did that too!) so that the Republican flock believes there's no point in switching.
Since conservatives are so bad at actual reasoned argument, Clinton and Carter will be blamed until they are distant memories. Then, Republicans will use them to scare their children: ';Eat all your vegetables, or Clinton will come for you'; or ';If you don't stop misbehaving, I'm going to ask Jimmy Carter to take you away.';
Ya i know, it's so silly!
I doubt that most of the users here were even born when Carter was in office. They couldn't possibly remember the austere economic policies of Nixon's price and wage freeze, or that the worst recession in the last 50 years took place under the Reagan/Bush administration.
If the sins of the father are passed on to the son, then it will take generations to repair the damage caused by the Carter and Cliton administrations. Nixon had to fix the many LBJ screw-ups (can you say Vietnam?). Ford wasn't around long enough to matter. Reagan's hands were full of Carter blunders (particularly the economy, anyone here remember the gas lines, or double digit inflation?). What exactly was wrong with daddy Bush's term? G.W. has had too many problems of his own (War on Terror, Tsunami, Iraq, Katina...etc) to even begin on focusing on ways to repair the Cliton damage. Seriously if Republican Presidents didn't have to focus on repairing Democrat blunders there's no telling how great we could be. I remember well the administrations from LBJ through today. If I had to rank them it would go as follows (1 being the best and 8 being the worst):

1. Reagan

2. George W. Bush

3. Nixon

4. George Bush

5.Ford

6. LBJ

7. Cliton

8. Carter

Why don't you grow up and get some experience before you start questioning things you obviously don't understand. Yes there was a recession when Reagan took office (Thank you Pres. Carter). All Slick-Willy had to do was ride the economic wave that Reagan/Bush provided. Without Reagan/Bush the 90's would have sucked. Cliton did nothing but endanger this country by reducing the military and not getting OBL when he had the chance (BTW close only counts in horseshoes and handgrenades). How was Nixon a bigger liar than JFK, LBJ, or Cliton? Nixon inherited a very unpopular war and his hands were congressionally tied from day one, it would have been impossible for his administration to win the war (sounds like what's going on today). It's funny how history has a way of repeating itself. Nobody here is saying that G.W. is perfect but he's a hell of a lot better than your heros (Carter/Cliton)
Carter was the worst president of the 2nd half of the 20th century. He let the Shah fall in Iran, which gave rise to the Radical nuke hungry Iran of today. He proved economists wrong by bringing ';Stagflation'; to the country with high unemployment and high inflation. He made the oil shortage worse by instituting more price controls, causing long lines to wait for gas, when the free market would have just caused the price to go up, and nobody would have had to wait. Carter naively thought that the USSR wasn't going to invade Afghanistan, but they did and arguably the conflict lead to the rise of the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. Carter delt with Communist takeovers in South America by giving them aid, instead of trying to balance against them. Carter was a very weak president.

As for Clinton, most of his successes were brought about by taking on the Republican Congress's fiscal agenda such as cutting welfare or the dot com boom which was brought about by the free market (notice that the economic successes I mention don't involve the government at all). Luckily his healthcare plan failed early on, otherwise we wouldn't have even had a surplus. (btw, surplus means you took in more money than you needed...so Bush's actions in giving it back to americans as a tax cut actually allowed us to benefit from it). In terms of foreign policy he did squander attempts to get Bin Laden (his own words) and he got us involved in Kosovo...Was Serbia really a threat to America?
But they never -somehow - Blame Clinton for:

1) Balancing the budget and bringing in a surplus - which their hero Georgie has completely done the complete opposite of.

2) Massive job creation.

3) Great relations with countries around the world - now ruined by their hero Georgie..

4) Did Not attempt to Destroy the Constitution and many of our rights along with it.
Golly, there are no Democrats in the Senate. And congress has a lower rating than Bush???? How can this be, more Fox propaganda?

So when are the Dems going to stop blaming Bush and accept someresponsibility of their own?

Your answer is???????????
short memories are a pre-req for being a DEFEATOCRAT such as your self...when clinton was running the first and second time all he did was blame bush #1 and the great ronald reagan...get a life and maybe study up a little.
They talk about the dems' problems because they have no positive accomplishments to speak of.
Should stop about 5 minutes after you shut up about tricky dick.

DEAL OR NO DEAL?
As long as Carter's %26amp; Clinton's ill effects remain.

We will suffer for the Freaky American Hating Judges that they appointed for years and years.
Forever....

If the past six years have proved anything, the right will blame and vilify all who disagree with their stupidity....
Best guess, for the next four generations. When their child turns sixteen, they tell them the lineage 4 presidents before and four presidents following Ronald Reagan.
until democrats get back in and fix things. then they'll say they fixed it all.
I guess that'll depend on how much longer those two numbskulls continue to voice their idiotic ideas. All their constant whining does is encourage more wackos to believe them.

Maybe you're too young to remember when Carter was in office but I remember the odd-even gas days/stagflation/ double digit unemployment/double digit home interest rates/ a crumbling military/hostages held in Iran, a country that was our ally until Cater came along.

You probaly should be able to remember the Clinton years with his constant womanizing/ aides indicted/ Whitewater/ selling presidential pardons/ selling top secret military technology/ hiding evidence from a Grand Jury by keeping it in the White House residence/ Monicagate/Paulagate/Gennifergate/ criminal destruction of US Taxpayer property in the West Wing/looting Air Force One/looting the White House.

Yes, they caused more problems, many more.

Clinton's surplus was the direct result of him not spending the money on the military that Congress allocated in the budget, and you see where that got us; we lost more military lives under Clinton, WHEN WE WEREN'T AT WAR, than we have under W. I think that W's got a lot of problems, but Clinton was far, far worse.
