You will have to pay for the treatment if he gets ill while on holiday. You won't be able to get insurance for him as he has a pre-existing condition. We are going to Australia for 3 weeks. My husband has CLL will he be treated if he falls ill while we are in?
Check out the insurance cover; explain to his doctor and ask his advice. Have a great time.
whats cll
Hi

I agree with the other answers.

You have to let your travel insurance co know if you have not you will not be covered. Normal travel agents insurance will more than likely not cover. You may be better with a private one.

Have a wonderful time.
you will get treatment but make sure that your health insurance co is aware and that this may be covered.

Happy holidays
go with the 1st answer as its true but i hope he isnt unwell over there and you both have a lovely time i wish him well .
Find an insurer that specialises in people with pre exsisting medical conditions.

I did a quick web search for travel insurance for cancer sufferers and it brought up a few so they do exist. They will probably want a bit of input from you husbands oncologist So get the ball rolling sooner rather than later.

Never consider traveling without suitable cover because it is just typical that you would need it!.

Good luck with your trip and good luck with the treatment.
There is one insurance company that I know of who will cover medical insurance for someone with a pre-existing medical condition - www.allcleartravel.co.uk

When I went to New York last year, I was waiting for surgery for a hernia. They insured me against the risk of needing surgery in the US during my 1 week trip, for a premium of 拢175. The surgery would have cost me 拢10,000 if it had happened.

They definitely take people with cancer - how much the premium will be for 3 weeks, I don't know. Don't take a chance - if anything happens in Oz which involves cancer, your ordinary travel insurance will NOT cover it and the hospital in Oz will pursue you through the courts if necessary to get their money. In fact, if you haven't got insurance that will cover the surgery, they'll make you sign legally-binding contracts on your home before they'll proceed with the surgery.

Contact All Clear Insurance and find out the premium - good luck!
